Hyderabad, August 1: The Telangana Backward Classes (BC) Commission held a special meeting with Advisor to Telangana Government (SC, ST, BC & Minorities) Mohammed Ali Shabbir to discuss several key issues, including BC reservations in local body elections and the upcoming social, economic, and caste survey in the state.
The meeting took place on Thursday at Shabbir Ali’s chambers in the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat.
BC Commission Chairman Dr. Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan Rao, members Shubhprad Patel and K. Kishore Goud, and other officials attended the meeting. During the session, Chairman Dr Krishna Mohan Rao provided a detailed account of the Commission’s work on determining BC reservations for local body elections. He also discussed the implications of recent Supreme Court and High Court judgments and the necessary procedures to be followed.
Additionally, the meeting covered the methodologies, procedures, and questionnaire design for the state’s forthcoming social, economic, and caste survey. Dr. Krishna Mohan Rao highlighted these aspects comprehensively to Shabbir Ali.
After the meeting, Shabbir Ali assured that he would bring these issues to the attention of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, and work towards a swift resolution. (eom)
