Congress Government committed to minority welfare, says Mohammed Ali Shabbir at Nizamabad Iftar

Nizamabad Iftar

Nizamabad, March 15: Advisor to Telangana Government (SC, ST, OBC & Minorities) Mohammed Ali Shabbir said that the Congress government in Telangana is committed to the welfare of minorities.

Addressing the Iftar organised at Khila Road in Nizamabad town, he extended Ramadan greetings to the Muslim community and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to their development.

He criticised Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement during his Hyderabad visit, where he allegedly claimed that the four percent Muslim reservation would be revoked. Shabbir Ali asserted that neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Amit Shah had the power to remove the reservation, as it was legally secured through a prolonged battle in the Supreme Court. He assured that the Congress government would continue to protect these reservations and uphold secular values.

He emphasised that the Congress government believes in inclusive governance and would not allow religious divisions. Stressing communal harmony, he stated that Hindus and Muslims are like two eyes to him. He urged the Muslim community to offer special prayers during Ramadan for Telangana’s progress and for Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s vision of making the state a leader in the country.

The event was attended by Urdu Academy Chairman Taher Bin Hamdan, Kesh Venu, Narala Ratnakar, Haroon, Khuddus, and several other dignitaries. (eom)
