Hyderabad, May 18: Advisor to the Telangana Government Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Sunday extended warm wishes and heartfelt prayers to 390 Haj pilgrims from Nizamabad district, who departed as part of the 12th convoy from the Haj House in Nampally.
Accompanied by Telangana State Haj Committee Chairman Khusro Pasha Biyabani and other dignitaries, Shabbir Ali bid an emotional farewell to the pilgrims, urging them to embrace the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with utmost devotion and discipline.
Addressing the pilgrims before their departure, Shabbir Ali reminded them of the sanctity and spiritual significance of the Haj pilgrimage. He said that the first glimpse of the Holy Kaaba is a moment of divine connection and that prayers made at that instant are often accepted.
“You are among the few fortunate ones chosen for this sacred journey. Make the most of it. Spend maximum time in prayers inside the Haram Shareef. Don’t waste time in idle conversations or unnecessary distractions,” he advised.
Stressing the need for spiritual focus and personal discipline, he said, “Haj is not a holiday. It’s an opportunity to seek forgiveness, to reflect, and to connect with your Allah. Limit your use of mobile phones to emergencies and avoid distractions. Engage your tongue, heart and mind in remembrance of Allah.”
The senior Congress leader also advised the pilgrims to take care of their physical well-being. “Control your food intake, avoid overeating, and be mindful of your health. Pilgrimage requires stamina, and your physical strength must be preserved for rituals and prayers,” he said.
Encouraging the pilgrims to embrace challenges with patience, he noted that while minor hardships or discomforts may occur during Haj, they are tests of faith. “Remember, miracles happen in Makkah. Many who go with sincerity return transformed. Face every difficulty with sabr (patience), and continue your prayers,” he said.
Shabbir Ali concluded his address with a heartfelt dua: “May Allah accept your Haj, your duas, and all your efforts. Pray for the peace and prosperity of our country and especially for Telangana.” (eom)
