- Govt Advisors Shabbir Ali, Sudarshan Reddy participate in SDIP at Nizamabad Collectorate
Nizamabad, January 23: The Congress government in Telangana is prioritising skill development to eliminate unemployment among youth, said government advisors Mohammad Ali Shabbir and P. Sudarshan Reddy at the Skill Development Initiative Programme (SDIP) held at the District Collectorate in Nizamabad on Friday.
Addressing a large gathering of students and educators, Shabbir Ali stressed the importance of upgrading skills to match the evolving needs of industries. “A degree alone is no longer enough. Youth must acquire technical skills relevant to today’s job market,” he said.
He pointed out that the Congress government, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is taking ambitious steps to empower youth through training programmes. In contrast to previous administrations, which failed to provide adequate support to ITI and polytechnic students, the current government has introduced advanced courses such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) to prepare them for future opportunities.
Shabbir Ali expressed confidence that skill development initiatives would enable students to compete at global levels, not just within the state. “Our goal is to ensure Telangana’s youth are equipped to thrive in both national and international job markets,” he added.

Government advisor P. Sudarshan Reddy urged students to make the best use of these opportunities. He stated that the government was committed to providing high-end technical skills even to students studying in government schools and colleges, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds.
He noted that the Chief Minister had introduced AI training specifically with ITI and polytechnic students in mind, aiming to create thousands of employment opportunities. The government was also working on plans to ensure immediate placement in both private and public sectors for students completing the training.
The advisors underlined that these efforts were part of a broader vision to transform Telangana’s youth into world-class professionals.
The programme was attended by District Collector Ila Tripathi, senior officials, heads of educational institutions, and a large number of students. (eom)
