Hyderabad, February 15: The 69th birthday of Telangana Government Advisor and former minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir was celebrated with immense enthusiasm across Telangana, particularly in Hyderabad, Kamareddy, and Nizamabad districts on Saturday. His supporters and well-wishers marked the occasion with grand celebrations and acts of philanthropy, reflecting their deep admiration for the veteran Congress leader.

In Kamareddy, Shabbir Ali’s native constituency, the celebrations were nothing short of spectacular. A historic milestone was achieved as, for the first time in Kamareddy’s history, a staggering 436 individuals voluntarily donated blood at a single camp. The drive, dedicated to Thalassemia patients and the Red Cross, Kamareddy, surpassed last year’s count of 336 donors, setting a new record in the region. The event saw the participation of Congress leaders, activists, and youth, who came forward to express their love and respect for Shabbir Ali through this noble gesture. A similarly blood donation camp was also organised in Nizamabad Distirct Congress head office.

As a token of appreciation, certificates and mementoes were distributed to blood donors, acknowledging their invaluable contribution to society. Helmets were also distributed to emphasise road safety awareness.

Apart from the blood donation drive, his supporters organised various welfare activities across Telangana. Food, fruits, and milk were distributed among the underprivileged in Kamareddy, Yellareddy, Banswada, Machareddy, Domakonda, Bibipet, and Bhiknoor. Government hospitals in Kamareddy, Banswada, and Yellareddy Assembly segments witnessed similar acts of kindness, as food and essentials were distributed among patients and their attendants.

In Hyderabad and Kamareddy, Shabbir Ali’s admirers erected massive banners, hoardings, and cutouts, extending heartfelt birthday wishes to the senior Congress leader. The celebrations showcased the deep emotional connect he shares with the people of Telangana, particularly in his home turf, Kamareddy.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who was on a Delhi tour, personally called Shabbir Ali to convey his birthday wishes. The occasion also saw congratulatory messages from Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Ministers including Uttam Kumar Reddy and D. Sridhar Babu, MPs such as Suresh Kumar Shetkar, several MLAs, MLCs, national leaders, and senior Congress figures. Additionally, celebrities from various fields, including industrialists, businessmen, educationists, and journalists, extended their best wishes over the phone.

Spending the day in Kamareddy with his followers and family, Shabbir Ali later returned to Hyderabad in the evening, where a grand celebration was organised at his residence in Jubilee Hills.

Expressing his gratitude, Shabbir Ali said, “I requested my supporters not to waste money on celebrations. Instead, I urged them to organise a blood donation camp so that my birthday could serve a greater cause. I sincerely thank all my well-wishers for their love and support, and I remain indebted to them forever.”

He reiterated his lifelong commitment to serving the people of Telangana and vowed to continue working for their welfare. (eom)
