Kamareddy, January 12: Advisor to Telangana Government Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Monday laid foundation stones for multiple development projects worth crores of rupees in various wards of Kamareddy Municipality, stating that the Congress government is giving special attention to the town’s progress.
In Ward 6 (Old Rajampet, Sarampalli), he inaugurated works for internal roads and a drainage system. In Ward 13 (Tekrial), he launched CC road works, emphasising basic infrastructure. In Ward 1 (Adloor), he directed officials to complete all pending works immediately and began construction of CC roads and drainage systems.
Addressing a public gathering after the programme, Shabbir Ali said the Congress government is committed to showing real development on the ground rather than relying on empty rhetoric. He urged people not to fall for provocative speeches and instead support the Congress, which prioritises inclusive growth.
“Our goal is to raise the Congress flag in the municipality through development. We appeal to the public to vote based on the work we have done, not on communal agendas,” he said.
He warned against those trying to spread communal hatred and appealed to voters to teach them a lesson by rejecting them at the ballot box.
Shabbir Ali further highlighted several key welfare and development schemes being implemented across the state by the Congress government. These include the expansion of BT roads and the modernisation of drainage systems in both rural and urban areas, the upgrading of government schools into ‘Amma Model Schools’, and the provision of advanced medical equipment and free medicines in government hospitals. He also mentioned the acceleration of the Indiramma housing scheme to help the poor with land construct their own homes. Additionally, the government is offering financial relief to women through free bus travel and subsidised gas cylinders under the Mahalaxmi scheme, while farmers are being supported through the Rythu Bharosa programme with input subsidies and loan waivers.
“This is not a government of words, but of actions. We are working to transform Kamareddy’s landscape through visible development,” he added.
A large number of local Congress leaders, workers, and residents participated in the foundation stone events.

Massive political shift as BJP, BRS leaders join Congress in Kamareddy
In a significant political development, several leaders from the BJP and BRS formally joined the Congress in the presence of Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Monday.
Key leaders and activists from Rajampet, Sarampalli, Tekrial, and Adloor announced their resignation from their respective parties and were welcomed into the Congress with party stoles by Shabbir Ali.
Speaking on the occasion, Shabbir Ali said that the Congress party’s development agenda and commitment to public welfare are attracting leaders from other parties. He assured that all new entrants would be given due recognition and roles within the party.
He noted that these mass defections have energised Congress cadres in Kamareddy and hinted that more leaders from rival parties are expected to join in the coming days. (eom)
