Nizamabad, January 23: The Telangana government is committed to strengthening the police system and ensuring the welfare of personnel, said Government Advisor Mohammad Ali Shabbir at the inauguration of the newly constructed Nizamabad Rural Police Station in Kanteshwar on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Shabbir Ali said the role of the police in maintaining law and order is crucial, and modern infrastructure helps bring policing closer to the people. He stated that the new facility, equipped with advanced amenities, was built to enhance public service delivery and improve policing standards.
He added that the Congress government, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is allocating funds for the construction of new police station buildings across the state in place of dilapidated structures. The advisor urged police staff to instil confidence in complainants and ensure speedy justice.
Shabbir Ali further said that peace and security are essential for development and attracting investments, and the state is working towards all-round progress in Nizamabad district.
Government Advisor P. Sudarshan Reddy also addressed the gathering and said the government is giving high priority to strengthening the police force. He noted that with a growing population, setting up new police stations is necessary to improve law and order monitoring. He welcomed the opening of the rural police station in Kanteshwar, saying it would benefit the local community.

Nizamabad Rural MLA Bhupathi Reddy expressed happiness over the launch of a modern police station in his constituency. He called for stronger police-public relations and urged the police to intensify efforts to curb crime in the area.
Director General of Police (DGP) Shivdhar Reddy advised police personnel to adopt technology in tune with changing times. He said crimes can be controlled through increased CCTV surveillance and on-ground patrolling. He also noted that improved working conditions in new buildings would enhance staff performance.
The DGP instructed officials to raise awareness about cybercrime and drug abuse, especially among the youth.
The event was attended by Armoor MLA Rakesh Reddy, District Collector Ila Tripathi, Commissioner of Police Sai Chaitanya, IG Chandra Shekhar (Multizone-I), public representatives, and senior police officials. (eom)
