Hyderabad, November 18: A delegation of Congress leaders and heads of social organisations from Nizamabad, led by Hafiz Mohammed Layeeq Khan, met Advisor to Telangana Government (SC, ST, OBC & Minorities) Mohammed Ali Shabbir at his residence in Jubilee Hills and submitted a detailed memorandum seeking support for the family of Late Shaik Riyaz on humanitarian grounds.
According to the representation, Shaik Riyaz, a resident of Armoor village and mandal in Nizamabad district, was killed in an encounter with the Nizamabad Police on 20 October. He is survived by his aged mother Zareena Begum, wife Sanober Nazmeen, and two minor children, Ruheena Sultana and Shaik Rehan. The memorandum stated that the family has no source of income, no permanent residence and is undergoing severe financial distress.
After reviewing the appeal, Shabbir Ali assured that a 2BHK house would be sanctioned to Riyaz’s wife in Nizamabad under an applicable government housing scheme. He said the process would be completed after consultation with Incharge Minister D. Seethakka.
He further announced that the educational expenses of the two children, who are studying in Class 2 and Class 3, would be personally borne by him until they complete Class 5. He added that both children would later be admitted to a TMREIS residential school to ensure stable and quality schooling.
Shabbir Ali also assured that outsourcing employment for Riyaz’s wife would be considered in TMREIS or another suitable institution, after due consultation with Minister Seethakka and relevant authorities.
He stated that the family’s circumstances warranted immediate humanitarian intervention and promised necessary support to secure their livelihood and future. (eom)
