Kamareddy, July 1: Telangana Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Tuesday appealed to Congress workers to unite and ensure the success of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge’s upcoming meeting in Hyderabad, which is intended to guide party ranks in defending the Indian Constitution.
As part of these mobilisation efforts, a preparatory meeting was held at the EVM Function Hall in Nizamabad town, bringing together key Congress functionaries from the combined Nizamabad-Zahirabad Lok Sabha constituencies. District In-charge Minister D Seethakka and Zahirabad MP Suresh Shetkar attended the event as chief guests.
Addressing the gathering, Shabbir Ali emphasised the importance of taking forward the “Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan” campaign in a strong and determined manner across the nation to protect constitutional values. He said the Congress movement stood for uniting all communities and spreading a message of love, while fighting to preserve democratic institutions.
He strongly criticised the BJP for neglecting non-BJP ruled states, describing it as deeply unfortunate. Shabbir Ali questioned how the BJP could claim credit for schemes such as the fine rice distribution in Telangana while failing to implement similar welfare measures in the states where it holds power. He accused the BJP of focusing its energy on toppling elected governments instead of working for people’s development.
Highlighting several flagship initiatives under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government, Shabbir Ali mentioned the transfer of Rs 9,000 crore into farmers’ accounts within nine days through the Rythu Bharosa scheme, the sanctioning of around 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses at 3,500 units per constituency, cooking gas cylinders at Rs 500, free bus travel for women, two-lakh loan waivers for farmers, and free power supply up to 200 units. He also noted the timely distribution of Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, Aarogyasri, and CMRF cheques.
He urged Congress activists to carry these achievements to every household, strengthen the party organisation at all levels, and strive to secure victories in the upcoming local body and village elections.
The meeting saw the participation of MLAs Sudarshan Reddy, Bhupathi Reddy, Lakshmi Kantha Rao, Madan Mohan Rao, Vedama Bajju, Sanjay Rao, Balamoori Venkat, Jeevan Reddy, Eravatri Anil, along with various corporation chairpersons, in-charges, and district presidents from across the combined district.
