Advisor to TG Govt participates in World Youth Skills Day at Sevalal Banjara Bhavan
Hyderabad, July 15: Advisor to the Government of Telangana (SC, ST, BC & Minorities) Mohammed Ali Shabbir urged the youth to actively acquire new skills that would make them more competitive in the job market. He also advocated promoting sports among youth to counter the drug menace.
Shabbir Ali addressed the World Youth Skills Day celebrations organised by the Society for Employment Promotion and Training in Twin Cities (SETWIN) on Monday at Sevalal Banjara Bhavan in Banjara Hills. The event aimed to highlight the importance of skill development among the youth and encourage them to pursue a healthier lifestyle.
He emphasised the crucial role of skill development in enhancing employability. “The future belongs to those who are skilled and adaptable,” he said, highlighting the need for continuous learning and development in today’s fast-paced world.
Shabbir Ali also issued a stern warning against the dangers of drug use, which he linked to the stress induced by excessive mobile phone usage. He noted that the prevalence of mobile phones has led to increased stress levels among the youth, subsequently driving them towards drug use as a coping mechanism. “In earlier times, without the constant presence of mobile phones, people experienced less stress and, consequently, there was minimal drug usage,” he remarked.
The Government Advisor advocated for promoting sports and physical activities across Telangana to combat this issue. He called for corporate houses to support these initiatives, emphasising that physical exercise is a natural stress reliever. “Encouraging youth to participate in sports and physical activities can significantly reduce stress levels,” he said. He also advised the youth to limit mobile phone usage to maintain a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
Shabbir Ali highlighted the government’s efforts to support skill development and mentioned the proposed establishment of Skill Universities across Telangana. These institutions are part of the Congress Government’s broader strategy to equip the youth with the necessary skills to thrive in various industries. “We are committed to setting up Skill Universities to ensure that our youth have access to quality education and training,” he stated.
Later in the day, Shabbir Ali visited the historic Bibi Ka Alawa in the Old City of Hyderabad and offered Dhatti to sacred Bibi Ka Alam. He also interacted with the officials regarding the arrangements for the Bibi Ka Alam procession to be taken out on Yaum-e-Ashura. He directed the officials to make proper arrangements to ensure that people visiting the Ashoor Khanas and participating in the Bibi Ka Alam procession do not face any inconvenience. (eom)
